Our Green Policy

Environmental & Social Responsibilty Policy

At Glenloy Lodge we are committed to working in a sustainable way and try to be proactive in our concern for the environment.

In order to achieve this we are undertaking the following actions:

We comply with all relevant environmental legislation and approved codes of practice.

We are always trying to improve our environmental and social responsibility performance.

We try to reduce pollution, emissions and waste as far as possible.

We are committed to reducing our use of energy, water and other resources and aim to reduce our use of non- renewables.

We aim to support suppliers and contractors who have similar environmental standards.

We help our guests to use products and services in an environmentally sensitive way.

We liaise with the local community and support local environmental projects.

We aim to keep up with relevant social and environmental issues to minimise the risk of having a negative impact.

We  joined the Green Tourism Business Scheme in 2008 as an indicator of our commitment to a sustainable business and were awarded a Silver Award. However we have decided that at the moment staying in this scheme doesn't really benefit us. We do still aim to continue to improve our 'green ' performance.

In this lovely rural spot it might seem hard to get around without a car, but why not walk, cycle or canoe - we have maps & books and other equipment can be hired locally (ask for details). - or have a car-free day and join Glenloy Wildlife on one of our trips. You could even book one of our wildlife breaks and have a car free holiday.
